A fast-growing power generation company with global operations seeks an attorney with 7+ years of experience in litigation, internal investigations, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act/anti-corruption compliance matters to play an integral role in the company’s anti-corruption compliance program and Legal Organization. Position responsibilities include:
Anti-Corruption Compliance & Investigations
Provide advice on anti-corruption law and compliance, including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, UK Bribery Act, and other anti-bribery laws and conventions as applicable to the Company’s global operations
Provide advice on US and EU economic sanctions and related regulations
Conduct and supervise compliance/anti-corruption due diligence on potential mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, project development, and other transactions
Conduct or oversee compliance/anti-corruption due diligence on third-party service providers
Develop and provide anti-corruption and Code of Conduct and related trainings and communications to employees globally
Develop and update the Company’s compliance-related policies
Conduct and oversee internal investigations of potential misconduct; provide related advice to Company management, and
Support the Compliance function’s reporting to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors;
Litigation Support; Reporting
Provide advice on all aspects of the Company’s global litigation, arbitration, and regulatory disputes
Manage legal proceedings and litigations, including supervising outside counsel and fact and expert witnesses; set and manage related budgets and spend
Assist in preparation of litigation-related disclosures in the Company’s financial statements and related reporting
Prepare internal management and Board litigation reports
Required educational background and experience:
JD with excellent academic and professional credentials
US-trained; US state bar admission
Minimum 7 years’ experience in litigation, investigations, and/or anti-corruption compliance counseling at US-based or international law firm, in government, or in-house
Substantive knowledge of FCPA/anti-bribery and economic sanctions compliance
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent presentation and training skills
Independent, self-starter, and self-possessed. Desire for international travel a must.
