This position is located in Anadarko’s corporate office in The Woodlands, TX as a member of the Legal Department reporting to the Associate General Counsel in charge of the E&P Services practice group.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:
A minimum of eight (8) years’ of experience as an IP lawyer handling all aspects of the Intellectual Property matters for an organization.
Extensive experience handling IP related agreements.
Extensive experience handling IP issues for an organization on a global basis, including patents, trademarks, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
Proactive approach to providing commercial advice and guidance to clients on IP provisions and issues related to a wide variety of commercial agreements for both domestic and international operations.
Experience handling seismic agreements a plus.
Experience managing outside counsel on IP Matters on a global basis.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and collaborative work style.
Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Drafting, negotiating, interpreting and advising on a variety of IP related agreements such as software licenses agreements, joint development agreements, data exchange agreements, and consortium agreements.
Acting as a subject matter expert and providing guidance to the members of the legal department on IP provisions and issues relating to commercial agreements, such as procurement and service agreements, staffing agreements and confidentiality agreements.
Developing and drafting corporate policies and best practice guidance on IP related matters such as cybersecurity and employee inventions.
Advising and counseling clients on various IP matters involving copyrights, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets.
Managing outside counsel in a cost effective manner, including interface with foreign counsel on IP matters related to the company’s international ventures and operations.
Relocation: This position may be eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements: Travel will be required up to 15%.
Work Schedule: This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
Licenses/Certifications: License to practice law in the United States – preferably before the United States patent and Trademark office (USPTO)
Education: LLM or JD required from an ABA accredited law school
