We are working with an outstanding Company (in Miami) that is looking for an attorney with 8 + years of litigation experience, construction litigation/construction defect experience is helpful. The candidate should have good credentials and in-house experience is certainly preferred.
The attorney will work closely with other in-house attorneys and will be managing litigation, making strategic litigation decisions and reviewing pleadings, motions, discovery and other legal documents.
This attorney will also be monitoring and coordinating outside counsel’s handling of litigation matters.
Ideally the attorney has 8-13 yrs of experience handling all aspects of litigation including but not limited to, responding to subpoena, negotiating settlements, overseeing and coordinating discovery, brief writing and motion practice and taking and defending depositions.
Experience in setting reserves is helpful
Experience in a dynamic in-house environment preferred, which would include previous managing of litigation and outside counsel.
Litigating additional insured and indemnity claims against subcontractors and suppliers.
Sound analysis of liability exposure, including opportunities for risk transfer, and litigating in established time frames and budgets in order to achieve their overall strategic objectives.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a fast paced legal environment
The attorney will manage (not litigate) cases many of which are construction defect matters
