Firm Advice is seeking a part-time, periodic counsel to assist an international technology company in Sterling, VA involved in innovative security matters with their on-going legal needs. This attorney will report to the head of the legal department and assist in the drafting and negotiating of domestic and international technology agreements and other commercial contracts, as well as provide legal advice to senior management. The successful candidate should have experience drafting and negotiating commercial technology contracts, including software licenses, professional services agreements, maintenance, and sales agreements.
JD from an accredited law school and member of at least one US bar;
Must have at least 5 years’ experience drafting and negotiating customer-facing commercial technology agreements, preferably gained while working at a technology company or major law firm. Experience with cloud-based agreements is a plus;
Experience assisting sales teams in meeting strategic goals is a plus;
Experience with IP matters stemming from the sale of software is a plus;
Experience with privacy matters is a plus;
Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities;
Candidate must be a self-starter with sound independent legal judgment and excellent communication and analytical skills; and
Candidate must enjoy working collaboratively in a collegial environment.
