CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS / EPC ATTORNEY POSITION WITH ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST PROFITABLE COMPANIES
Hawryluk Advisors has been retained exclusively by Saudi Aramco, the world's largest integrated oil, natural gas, and petrochemicals company, to find an attorney with 6+ years of sophisticated construction contracts and EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) experience for its Law Organization at its headquarters in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
This attorney will work closely with internal Saudi Aramco clients and support their substantial and complex contracting and purchasing functions by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction and EPC contracts, O&M agreements, BOO/BOOT contracts, service agreements, and other commercial contracts and related agreements.
This attorney also will oversee significant construction disputes arising out of large commercial contracts in the oil and gas industry. For disputes that proceed to arbitration, the lawyer will manage outside counsel and manage and liaise with internal clients.
This attorney also will advise as to internal policies and provide training to company personnel on related matters. And the attorney will also work on a variety and mix of other commercial contracts as needed.
Candidates for this position should have: 1) at least 6+ years of experience with a strong law firm, large corporation, or other sophisticated business organization in the field of construction disputes/litigation (in the US and/or internationally); 2) direct experience preparing claims or defenses in significant construction disputes, preferably on behalf of clients in the oil & gas industry; 3) experience managing, running and coordinating significant construction disputes; 4) experience providing written advice to owners and/or contractors in construction disputes; 5) experience handling construction arbitrations pursuant to the American Arbitration Association’s rules and/or the ICC rules of arbitration or other international arbitration rules; 6) experience advising owners and contractors with respect to construction disputes arising under standard form construction contracts such as FIDIC; 7) excellent negotiation and communication skills; 8) experience providing concise, clear support to internal clients; and, 9) leadership and mentorship experience.
Energy industry (oil and gas, petrochemical, power or oil field services), construction industry, and international experience are a plus.
Candidates must be currently licensed, admitted to practice, and in good standing in the United States, and have a J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
