Company Overview: Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings America, Inc. MCHC affiliates have three primary business domains: Performance Products, Health Care and Industrial Materials, and operates businesses through four core groups: Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (including plastics and rayon), Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma, Life Science Institute, Inc. Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation. This position will provide legal support for all forty-four affiliates in the Americas and report directly to the General Counsel. MCHA’s legal department is located in midtown Manhattan.
Position: Reporting to the General Counsel of MCHA, the Senior Counsel, Employment and Compliance will provide legal services and support to MCHC affiliates in the Americas. He/she will focus on employment and human resources matters and investigations, transactional matters that implicate employment and human resources matters and support the Chief Compliance Officer with compliance initiatives including policy development and online/live training programs. The Senior Counsel, Employment and Compliance must be business-oriented and provide business solutions and strategies to the business in the context of legal and compliance guidance and advice.
Experience: 8+ years’ experience, with major law firm training and/or in-house experience handling a broad range of complex legal issues including significant and extensive employment law in addition to compliance program experience. He/she must be highly competent and business savvy with substantive knowledge of and experience with employment and human resources matters and investigations. Also, experience with compliance initiatives including policy development and online and live training programs is required.
Compensation: Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
