Hawryluk Advisors has been retained exclusively by Saudi Aramco, the world's largest integrated oil, natural gas, and petrochemicals company, to find an Intellectual Property Preparation & Prosecution attorney with 5+ years of experience for its Law Organization at its headquarters in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This lawyer will report directly to the head of the company’s Intellectual Property Practice Area and will work closely with internal clients and inventors in support of the company's various technologies and scientific disciplines. Responsibilities include: (a) preparing and prosecuting patent applications; (b) patent portfolio management; (c) counseling clients; (d) providing IP education to clients on various IP-related topics; and (e) providing legal advice in the areas of patent portfolio strategies. In addition, the attorney will have the opportunity to draft and negotiate research and development agreements and IP licenses.
Candidates for this position should have: 1) 5+ years of experience working for a strong law firm or major corporation (with a minimum of 2 years in-house); 2) experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications; 3) a strong chemicals or petrochemical background; and 4) familiarity with the Patent Cooperation Treaty and other foreign prosecution authorities. Oil industry experience and knowledge of distributed control and communication systems is a plus.
Candidates must be currently licensed, admitted to practice, and in good standing with a state bar association in the United States and before the USPTO., and have a J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
An undergraduate degree in Organic Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering required.
