General Counsel - Petro Rabigh
Hawryluk Advisors has been retained exclusively by Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Company (“Petro Rabigh”) to help hire a General Counsel for its headquarters in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia.
Petro Rabigh was created in 2005 as a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical of Japan. In January 2008, Petro Rabigh held an initial public offering (IPO) on the Saudi Arabian stock exchange, with Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical each retaining 37.5% ownership interest. In October 2008, Saudi Aramco transferred its oil refinery to Petro Rabigh, and the newly completed Rabigh complex began operations in April 2009.
With approximately 2,900 employees and located on the Red Sea, this US $10 billion complex is the largest integrated oil refinery and petrochemical production facility ever built, and one of the most sophisticated plants of its kind. An expansion valued at an additional US $8.5 billion is anticipated for completion in 2017.
The General Counsel will work closely with Petro Rabigh’s President & CEO, Board of Directors, internal clients, and founding shareholders to support the company’s various business interests. This position offers a challenging and sophisticated in-house opportunity for an adventurous individual who would like to help guide one of the world's leading integrated petrochemical companies.
Candidates should have: 1) at least 10+ years of relevant experience with a leading law firm or large corporation; 2) international oil and gas and/or petrochemical industry experience; 3) high-level management experience; 4) excellent negotiation and communication skills; and 5) experience providing concise, clear, support to internal clients.
Experience in the region and Arabic language skills are a plus.
