Solutus Legal Search has been exclusively engaged by our client, a public global technology company and market leader in its industry, to assist in hiring a Commercial Corporate Counsel. This attorney will report directly to the General Counsel. This is a rare opportunity to be on the ground floor of a dynamic and fast-growing company and legal team and to work on challenging issues that impact the business at all levels. In addition, the successful candidate will receive great mentorship and have the ability to diversify her/his practice, to gain exposure to a wide variety of legal issues, and to take ownership of other legal areas within the small legal team.
This attorney will be responsible for independently drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing contracts with customers, partners and vendors, while ensuring compliance with company policies and risk profile. S/he will support the continuous improvement of template agreements and legal processes and will advise on aspects of data privacy compliance across various jurisdictions. This attorney will assist in the development and improvement of the company’s privacy compliance program and will be able to address IP, licensing, and compliance issues.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 4-10 years of legal experience;
- Experience structuring, negotiating and drafting a wide range of complex commercial agreements, such as master supply/sales agreements, strategic partnerships, licensing, co-marketing, sponsorships, consumer and business-facing terms of service and privacy policies, preferably for SaaS companies;
- Strong organization skills and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure; and
- Flexibility and a willingness to pitch in where needed and learn new areas of law.
Our client seeks a business-minded attorney with a can-do attitude, a high level of professionalism, a good sense of humor, and strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills. All candidates must have excellent academic credentials, a JD from an accredited law school, and must be admitted to practice law in California. A combination of law firm and in house experience is preferred.
