We are working EXCLUSIVELY with the US Division of one of the world's largest mining and metals corporations. The position is located in Salt Lake City and the successful candidate will be supporting the US mining assets and general corporate and regulatory activities. Reporting to the US Chief Counsel and working very closely with the other two attorneys in the group, this will be a very broad and very hands on role.
Responsibilities will include:
-providing legal advice to business management -analyzing legal risks regarding corporate, commercial, regulatory and compliance matters
-structuring, negotiating, reviewing and drafting a variety of commercial agreements
-managing outside counsel -developing and maintaining relationship with the global legal team
-developing successful relationships with a variety of business unit managers and other professionals
-monitoring and managing a variety of compliance issues and requirements
-training employees on compliance matters
-Special projects as required
5 + years of experience either from a law firm or corporation or combination of both. Experience with heavy industry clients is preferred. Strong academic record along with excellent oral and written communication skills Genuine interest and or tie to SLC. Strong relocation package offered
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
