Our client - a large, global financial institution in Manhattan - is seeking a seasoned compliance attorney with at least 7 years of relevant experience to serve in a key, highly visible role as the chief point of contact vis a vis various business groups within the company. The position also involves coordinating compliance efforts globally through a network of regional compliance associates. The position also will support the successful implementation of policies and procedures, promote consistency across jurisdictions, and facilitate escalation and appropriate resolution of compliance issues. The position also involves advising employees on codes of conduct, securities trading, gifts, outside business interests, confidentially, separation, record keeping and regulatory disclosures. Moreover, the person in this position will represent compliance at staff meetings, communicate on new and revised policies and procedures, and present on compliance topics of interest to the line of business. Responsibilities also include serving on a policy review committee, analyzing compliance exception trends and recommending remedial actions to senior management.
Attorney with minimum of 7 years of relevant compliance experience;
Experience in fixed income, capital markets or credit environments;
Affinity for project work and problem solving, with a proven track record in identifying and analyzing relevant considerations, developing sound recommendations, and presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner; and
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including skills at creating and delivering training and topical presentations to teams, groups, and members of senior management.
