Firm Advice is conducting a search for the Sterling, VA office of a leading international technology company for a patent attorney to manage and maintain the company's patent portfolio, conduct IP due diligence, conduct competitor patent analysis, as well as oversee patent litigation and patent prosecution.
The successful candidate will have at least seven years’ experience conducting product clearance reviews, advising on product development, analyzing competitor portfolios, performing IP due diligence, and managing patent litigation and patent and trademark prosecution programs.
J.D. from accredited law school; member in good standing of a bar of the U.S and The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office;
Seven plus years’ experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications; providing advice on product development and innovation; analyzing competitors’ patent portfolios; performing intellectual property right (IPR) due diligence and drafting legal opinions; evaluating use of open source software; and advising on trademarks, copyrights, and technology transfer;
Five plus years’ experience managing patent litigation, including negotiating settlements and indemnity disputes, managing outside counsel, and responding to third-party discovery subpoenas;
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial and technology contracts, including licensing, sales, partner, vendor, licensing, RFPs, NDAs and SOW a plus;
Candidate must be a self-starter with excellent communication and analytical skills and able to work independently on multiple tasks;
Proven and excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent time management and organizational skills;
Proactive manner and enthusiasm; and
Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise fashion.
