Electric Boat Corporation is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to be its lead government contracts lawyer.
Will provide advice and guidance to various professionals, managers, directors and executive staff principally regarding federal government contract matters, including management of claims against the government and government claims against the company, cost accounting, defective pricing, requests for equitable adjustments, licensing of intellectual property, data rights issues, subcontractor performance issues, terminations for default and convenience, responding to government audits, False Claims Act investigations and qui tam lawsuits. Responsibilities also include bankruptcy and review and/or negotiation of a variety of contract matters and business agreements, as well as the management of outside law firms retained in connections with litigation and other related matters.
Required Education: Candidates must have a J.D. degree and an active license to practice law. If not admitted to practice in Connecticut the candidate must be able to attain certification as a Connecticut authorized in-house counsel.
Experience: Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible and relevant experience as an attorney. Prior government contract experience in combination with legal experience may be considered.
Experience negotiating government prime contracts, subcontracts and/or teaming agreements.
Demonstrated expertise in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), the Anti-Deficiency Act and the Competition in Contracting Act.
