Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Assistant General Counsel, Partnership Contracts is the lead lawyer supporting the Company’s new business proposals and contracts with federal, state and local government partners throughout the United States.
The principal responsibilities of the Assistant General Counsel, Partnership Contracts comprise these functional areas:
Proposals – Supporting the Partnership Development team in the formulation of proposals for multi-million dollar, multi-year contracts with government partners to provide turnkey corrections and detention solutions, leased essential government real estate and residential reentry solutions
Contracts – Drafting, negotiating, reviewing and providing legal and strategic counsel and input with respect to the company's contracts with its government partners
Contract Management – Supporting the implementation, management and operation of the company's automated contract management information system

Qualified candidates should possess extensive hands-on experience in:
Representing a business enterprise and providing highly responsive advice and counsel regarding the wide variety of contract matters, including contract drafting, negotiation, amendment, interpretation and dispute resolution
Directly supporting business executives in the development of customer proposals for new business opportunity and negotiating the terms of contract awards
Qualified candidates will possess a J.D. from an ABA accredited, U.S. law school, as well as not less than five (5) years of pertinent legal experience. Applicants must be a member of the Tennessee bar, or eligible for the Tennessee bar's multidisciplinary (in-house counsel) license. Candidates with government contracting experience, prior in-house legal and/or AmLaw 100 private practice experience will be given priority. Because the role involves significant, direct contact with senior-level executives, successful candidates will be highly motivated, exceedingly responsive, solution-focused, team-oriented, and possess the confidence necessary to develop highly effective, trusted advisor relationships throughout the organization.
