Corporate Generalist, General Commercial/Contracts, Intellectual Property
Fast-paced e-commerce company is seeking a well-rounded attorney to join its small legal department. The right candidate will have proficiency in handling a wide range of general commercial transactions and willingness to expand into new substantive areas to match the growing business needs.
Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including vendor purchase, professional servicing, SaaS/software, supply chain, recruiting/staffing, intellectual property licensing and media agreements, among others
Advise the business on various compliance matters including FCPA, OSHA, privacy; devise and implement compliance procedures
Support our Private Label products business, including negotiating commercial contracts such as co-manufacturing agreements, reviewing advertising content and marketing materials, advising on regulatory matters such a FDA and state law compliance, import/export regulations
Support our Procurement and Operations areas, including negotiating facility/procurement related documentation, such as equipment purchase and/or leasing agreements, fire/security services and monitoring agreements and personal property purchase agreements
Manage intellectual property portfolio, including trademark registration and prosecution, product development clearance
Support key functions within the organization, such as Procurement, Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology and Facilities
JD from an accredited school
Member in good standing with the Florida bar or eligible to attain Florida house counsel exemption
8+ years commercial contracts experience
Large law firm experience a must; in-house a plus
Ability to lead transactions and projects, with strong analytical, interpersonal, drafting, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
Excellent judgement and common sense
A practical, business-oriented approach to solving problems
Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters; willingness to learn new substantive areas
