A major insurance company is seeking an Investment Management Corporate Counsel for its Morristown, NJ office. Responsibilities will include providing legal support to the company’s third party institutional investment management platform, which includes multiple private funds and managed accounts in various asset classes for both domestic and international institutional clients. Responsibilities will also include legal support for review of marketing materials, new product structuring, fund formation (both private and registered funds), and drafting and negotiation of legal documents with respect to such products. Providing frequent advice and counsel with respect to the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Alternative Investment Fund Manager's Directive and FINRA's institutional broker dealer rules and the Investment Company Act of 1940 can also be expected. Experience representing a broker-dealer is desirable, but not required. 3 plus years of funds and investment management experience is required. A JD is a must. The attorney must be admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and New York.
