Bliss Lawyers is seeking an attorney with experience drafting record industry contracts (e.g., exclusive recording contracts) to work in the New York City office of a global media company. The qualified candidate will have at least five years of experience, preferably at least two years of which were spent working with record company clients. Qualified candidates must demonstrate a general awareness of how the record industry works from a business perspective. Candidates must also be able to step into high-level negotiation scenarios, exercise good business judgment and work autonomously. The selected attorney will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a variety of record industry contracts and also regularly interact with other divisions of the company, such as marketing and product development, and supervise a junior attorney. This engagement will start in January 2017 and will last approximately three months. The time commitment for this engagement will vary from 25 to 40 hours per week. Compensation is competitive, with benefits.
