Our client, a diversified company with global operations is seeking an experienced Tax Attorney to work in its Northern New Jersey offices. Responsibilities include:
Providing counsel on international tax issues including Subpart F and foreign tax credit issues.
Participating in US international and cross-border tax planning projects.
Develop planning and structuring of acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations throughout the company. Research tax legislation and conduct due diligence for M&A activity.
Analyzing the key tax effects of current or proposed transactions, including reorganizations, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Maintaining a thorough knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and accounting standards and provide advice to management.
Managing foreign tax credits, earnings and profits calculations, foreign source income, FDII and GILTI calculations.
Managing the preparation of the international portion of the U.S. tax return.
Preparing the company’s responses to auditor information data requests and notice of proposed adjustments.
Developing and managing the Company’s position and response in International Tax matters related to the Company’s financial statement audits.
Identifying tax planning opportunities within the international and domestic tax area.
Qualified applicants should have a JD with at least 10 years specialized international tax planning
Strong analytical and leadership skills
Well-developed interpersonal, communication experience from a Big 4 or large multi-national corporate environment
Advanced degree in Tax (MST, MBA, LLM) and/or CPA required.
Salary commensurate with experience. Bonus eligible position.
