Parker + Lynch’s client, a thriving international technology company headquartered in Washington D.C., is seeking to bring on an Associate General Counsel to fill a key role in its D.C. office. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that is transforming the way humans interact by applying artificial intelligence to predict patterns of interpersonal behavior. The primary focus of the role is to work with the Company’s General Counsel in managing multiple complex legal projects and assisting on budgetary, personnel, technology, strategic planning and similar matters. Other responsibilities include:
Overseeing all legal matters in functional areas of responsibility to protect company assets and provide preventative advice
Ensuring legal compliance and facilitating strategic initiatives
Acting as company’s representative to outside counsel
Coaching other employees to promote employee development and professional growth
Preparing budgetary, succession and developmental plans for the Legal Department
The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic, take ownership and have excellent problem-solving skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
5 to 8 years practicing law at a major law firm or in house representing a public company as in-house counsel
Corporate and securities, debt/equity related transactions, commercial contracts, real estate transactions, corporate tax, corporate insurance, and/or other corporate law experience
Experience handling oversight and growth of international legal compliance and training programs
Management of the mechanics of a portfolio of international entities
Fluency in Portuguese (Brazil), French, Mandarin, Italian, or German is highly desirable
