Corporate Generalist, General Commercial/Contracts, Real Estate
Seeking a highly energetic self-starter for the role of Associate General Counsel for a growing private investment firm with diversified investments in commercial real estate, entertainment, transportation, and asset management. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work across industry segments, take on a variety of roles, and grow with the company. The Associate General Counsel will work directly with the management team and participate on the front-lines of the company’s investment decisions. Family friendly hours and environment.
Assist in the negotiation and drafting of a wide variety of business related contracts
Analyze, develop and structure new investment opportunities
Assist in managing the day-to-day legal needs of the organization and portfolio companies, including advising C-Suite executives and board of directors, and managing outside counsel
Assist in corporate compliance efforts and record keeping
Minimum 2 years of experience in general corporate law, corporate finance or bankruptcy
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize responsibilities
Excellent writing and negotiating skills
Extremely detail-oriented and willing to take a hands-on approach to solving problems
Knowledge of commercial real estate, corporate finance or bankruptcy a plus
Juris Doctorate from top tier US law school
Admitted to practice in the District of Columbia; admission to Maryland a plus but not required
