The intern will be primarily based in the Calabasas office reporting to the Senior Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs. The internship will begin June 4, 2018 and end August 10, 2018 (10 weeks). During the 10 weeks, the intern will work with several members of the legal department, gaining exposure to the different functional areas within the legal group (e.g., corporate intellectual property matters (including patent & trademark prosecution), licensing, litigation, and general business counseling), and handle assignments within their skill level. During the final week, the intern will present to members of the legal group a brief report of their experiences and projects during the internship.
Candidate Requirement and Qualification
Candidates for the internship will be considered based on following requirements and qualifications; however, these requirements and qualifications are not considered exhaustive and other qualities and backgrounds may be considered in selecting a candidate.
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.
Must be able to work on-site at Calabasas, California and be able to travel to San Jose, California
Enrollment in a Juris Doctor program at an accredited law school
2L ranking (with transcripts as evidence)
Excellent legal research and writing skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong computer literacy (especially with Microsoft Suite programs)
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated interest in the technology and entertainment industries and intellectual property and licensing
A sense of confidence, discretion, and trustworthiness
