A top client of Parker + Lynch is seeking a Senior Counsel (Employment Law) to fill a key role in its Northern Virginia office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-caliber team with responsibility for diverse employment-related issues at a global technology company.
The company is seeking a talented attorney who enjoys employment counseling, but is also skilled at employment litigation. The position involves collaborating with an experienced team of business executives and human resources personnel to implement policies and provide training to an international workforce. Responsibilities include providing expert review and advice on employment matters across different departments and geographies, managing all aspects of employment related litigation (e.g., representing the company at mediation, supervising outside counsel, and negotiating settlement agreements), and developing and implementing sound workplace policies and procedures. Additionally, the position’s responsibilities include training the HR department and other business partners, collaborating with other departments and internal clients to develop strategies for global mobility/immigration issues and internal investigations, and counseling counsel internal clients, implementing policies, and preparing filings to enhance compliance with data privacy regulations.
The company is looking for a self-starter who has excellent interpersonal skills and also possesses the following attributes:
J.D. from a top tier law school
Superior legal writing skills
5-7 years of experience with a reputable law firm and/or in-house department (prior in-house experience is a plus)
Significant experience with federal and state employment laws
Experience with U.S. and E.U. data privacy law is preferred
