Parker + Lynch Legal is working exclusively with an international law firm seeking an experienced privacy attorney to join their Informational Governance group as in-house Counsel. This position will ideally sit in the firm's Kansas City office, but can also sit in Dallas, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Des Moines, Denver or Indianapolis.
The Privacy and Security Counsel will report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer and will be responsible for helping the firm achieve their information governance goals. This role does not represent firm clients, rather is akin to an in-house role with a corporation. The position is exempt.
Responsibilities will include:
Reviewing, negotiating and tracking client requirements related to security, privacy and information management within various contracts, including outside counsel guidelines, business associate agreements, RFPs and other client reqs
Tracking laws and ethical rules related to the firm's representation of clients to ensure compliance
Working with firm leaders to develop and maintain policies related to the firm's use of big data analytics processes
Managing the firm's incident response process as well as the security awareness program
Coordinating annual review of policies and procedures related to IG issues
Interested candidates should have at least six (6) years of privacy and data protection experience. CIPP/US and CIPP/EU a plus.
