Our client, HCP, Inc. (“HCP”) has retained Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for a Vice President – Legal to be based in its Franklin, TN (Nashville area) offices.
Overview: Under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the Senior Vice President, the Vice President – Legal will be responsible for providing a broad range of real estate and corporate transaction-focused services, including but not limited to transaction management, outside counsel management, and the negotiation, drafting and review of agreements related to the ownership and operation of healthcare real estate.

Location: Franklin, TN (Williamson County; Cool Springs area near Nashville)
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
Education/Admissions: Juris Doctor from ABA accredited law school and admission in good standing to a State Bar (Tennessee preferred). Prior AmLaw 100 firm experience and in-house experience at a public company preferred.
Experience: The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 12 – 15+ years of relevant corporate and real estate transactional experience. S/he will have the ability to manage extremely detailed and complex transactions and other legal projects. Superior verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, are required, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams. Prior REIT experience, large law firm experience, and experience in-house at a public company are preferred.
