Reporting to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Deputy Corporate Secretary, the incumbent will have primary responsibility for providing leadership and coordination of the Fannie Mae’s corporate governance operations, including working with Fannie Mae business units to facilitate the preparation, review and distribution of governance documents, and the administration of management and Board level committee meetings.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage day-to-day administrative and operations matters related to budget, technology, space and procurement for the corporate governance function.
Manage, maintain and enhance Fannie Mae's corporate governance operations and meeting administration processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while increasing the efficiency of the processes.
Direct Corporate Governance staff in assisting business units with the collection of Board materials.
Ensure consistent and customer focused communication to business units on governance operations and administration issues and topics.
Lead cross-divisional project teams developing and gathering information, and support those teams, with respect to the continuous improvement of management-level and Board committees, including the streamlining of key enterprise governance policies and procedures.
Respond or direct the staff response, as appropriate, to regulatory, external and internal auditor request.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
Graduate degree preferred
10+ years of related experience
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Experience in financial services with regulator and/or regulated entity required.
Compliance, accounting, audit or other legal or regulatory background strongly preferred.
Experience with governance at the enterprise and Board level preferred.
Superior project management and supervisory skills.
