Our client, a global company with offices in Northern New Jersey, recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of America’s Best Employers, is seeking an attorney for the role of Intellectual Property Counsel.
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the IP Counsel position are to provide, in a timely and effective manner, the highest-quality legal support for a range of business-oriented IP transactional services for, and to build partnerships with, business units within the company. This attorney will have direct responsibility for reviewing, negotiating, and drafting a range of contracts such as: Confidentiality agreements with universities, research organizations, commercial partners and private sector institutions to implement long-term strategic and commercial objectives for the subject IP; Material transfer agreements covering early-stage, proprietary chemistry and/or biotechnology materials and/or products; Service agreements; and Consultant agreements.
Qualifications: • JD degree and a license to practice law in at least one US state is required. • Admission to practice before the USPTO is preferred. • Minimum 2+ years of IP and/or transactional practice is required. • Background and/or experience in chemistry, biotechnology, or biology is preferred.
