Our client, a leading home building company in Colorado is looking for a 6 plus years real estate counsel who is responsible for reviewing, negotiating and drafting real estate contracts and related agreements for the acquisition of raw land, partially developed land and finished platted lots, and land development, for the purpose of building single family homes, as well as conducting due diligence and closing the land acquisitions, including working with paralegals and title companies to prepare and review closing documents and title work. Due diligence may include legal analysis of title issues, bonding and development matters, community facilities districts, homeowner associations, and water availability, among other issues. The Real Estate Attorneys in the Legal Department interact with management in discussing and managing risks with respect to the purchase and development of real estate, and provide guidance to division personnel with respect to company land transaction policies and procedures and other risk management processes. Additionally, the position may provide assistance in the area of leasing. 6+ years as a practicing lawyer with an emphasis in real estate. Some homebuilding experience preferred. Real Estate Attorneys have to be a JD from a accredited law school with a license to practice law in Colorado ideally or another state with single client admission in Colorado. License shall be active and in good standing. - Good working knowledge of all aspects of Real Estate Transaction. Office Leases, Retail Leases, Shopping Centers, Development, Acquisitions, Industrial Leases and Multi-Family Leases
