This attorney will be responsible for actively managing outside counsel in all phases of litigation, and providing advice and counsel/legal support to various business units, with an emphasis on general negligence and tort law. This attorney will assist in developing and directing litigation strategy and may assist in the development of junior attorneys on staff. The position is located in SE Michigan providing services to a self-insured, Fortune 500 enterprise.
Strong academic credentials required. Must be a Member, or able to become a Member of the State Bar of Michigan. 3 to 8 years of combined trial and in-house experience strongly preferred. This position requires significant experience in managing litigation and advising business clients. Trial or appellate experience in personal injury and/or general liability is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills, sound judgment, and outstanding client-service skills are critical.
