Highly visible Washington, DC, metro area public company with a well-regarded office of general counsel has a newly created counsel position focusing on technology transactions. Position best suited for a mid-to senior-level associate (2012-2008).
Reason for Need: This need results from the reallocation of work generated by the Company’s three most active business units, including international and strategic initiatives. You will be in a department of approximately four other attorneys, but will be the only counsel with a generalist portfolio.
Focus of Work: Technology transactions, licensing, and software agreements, e-commerce, marketing, distribution, products transactions, and customized agreements. Position is intended to serve as a technology transactions generalist and will have access to a range of industries.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will possess both law firm (AmLaw 200) and in-house tenures. Must be effective and have credibility working with very seasoned business leaders who are respectful and appreciative clients. *A practical, business-oriented approach to problem solving is the legal team’s orientation.
