The Senior Vice President and General Counsel (SVP/GC) of the Financial Advice and Solutions Group (FASG) will report to USAA’s Chief Legal Officer and will coordinate all legal functions of FASG. FASG includes the (i) Life & Health Insurance, (ii) Investment Management, (iii) Broker/Dealer and (iv) Financial Planning functions at USAA. This is a leadership position and will partner with senior executives reporting to the CEO, while serving as a key point of contact for the Chief Legal Officer on management and strategic matters regarding FASG, USAA and the Chief Legal Office. This role proactively participates with members of the USAA FASG senior management team in the development and execution of all aspects of the strategic and operational plans for the business, and will lead four distinct teams of lawyers, paralegals, analysts and admins that provide counsel to manage legal, compliance and regulatory risk on all matters affecting the FASG businesses.

A minimum of 14 years of experience practicing law, ideally, in a law firm as well as in-house. Must have expertise in both bank regulations and in matters related to life & health insurance, annuities, investment advisory, broker-dealer and mutual fund activities, including familiarity with state life & health insurance laws and regulations, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Company Act of 1940, state securities laws and relevant SEC and FINRA rules.
