About This Job
You will report directly to the Executive Vice President & General Counsel and will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters. You will help develop, write and implement company’s policies, procedures and human resource related programs. You will work closely with every level in the company, including senior management and project managers.
We're looking for an experienced attorney who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of handling diverse, wide ranging legal issues. You must be practical, have good business sense and a strong work ethic. You must have strong interpersonal skills, be an excellent communicator, a good listener, and can relate to people from all walks of life. You must have the ability to operate independently and work proactively with various teams across the organization.
Advise and counsel senior management and project managers regarding a wide variety of issues relating to major construction projects, change orders, contract interpretation and compliance
Review, negotiate and approve contracts with customers and subcontractors
Work with our insurer on worker’s compensation and third party claims, as well the Safety Department
Conduct and direct investigations on a wide variety of issues
Provide training to staff on policies and procedures
Member of the Oregon State bar
6+ years of legal experience with a primary emphasis on contracts and construction
Must have a basic understanding of employment law, OSHA and litigation management
Demonstrated sound business and legal judgment
Entrepreneurial mindset: flexible, self-starting and hard-working
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations
Excellent writing and legal research skills
Proficient with WestlawNext
This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Canby, Oregon. Applicants must reside within a reasonable driving distance from the office, or be willing to relocate as soon as possible.
