Works with General Counsel to handle the day-to-day legal affairs of a 501(c)(6) trade association, including: drafting and submitting corporate legal documents; reviewing agendas, minutes, and contracts; advising AHRI staff on regulatory, corporate governance, and antitrust compliance; ensuring legal compliance of AHRI’s international activities; and representing AHRI in legal proceedings (particularly Department of Energy, EPA and FTC agency rulemakings and litigation).

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university); Juris Doctor
Experience : Three to five years related experience as a practicing attorney. Association, anti-trust, administrative, or regulatory law (particularly DOE, EPA or FTC) preferred.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work closely with and communicate well, both in writing and orally, with non-lawyers as part of the AHRI team. Flexibility, creativity and the ability to initiate, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks simultaneously is critical. Must be willing to learn business dynamics of the HVACR and water heating industry and technical details of product performance.
