The Head of Legal, U.S. will establish CES’ U.S.-based legal function and provide business-oriented and client-focused legal services to the company’s business in the region. He/she will report to CES’ Legal and Human Resources Director (General Counsel) based in Calgary and will be aligned with operating management for the company’s U.S. businesses, primarily Jacam and AES. The Head of Legal, U.S. will be the sole domestic lawyer and will support CES’ growth.
Servicing the North American oil and natural gas industry, CES is a leading provider of technically advanced consumable chemical solutions throughout the life-cycle of the oilfield. This includes total solutions at the drill-bit, at the point of completion and stimulation, at the wellhead, during production, and finally through to the pipeline and midstream market. The company’s two core businesses are drilling fluids and production and specialty chemicals, which combined represent over 90 percent of the CES’ current revenue stream. The drilling fluids business implements drilling fluid systems for North American based oil and natural gas producers. The production and specialty chemicals business designs and manufactures a complete line of production specialty chemicals for use in both the North American oil and natural gas industry and for specific industrial applications. Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, CES has operations in western Canada servicing the entire WCSB and has operations in twenty states in the U.S., where the company is active in the major U.S. basins.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably gained in-house, with an emphasis on supporting commercial operations and shared services oilfield services industry.
Competitive base and bonus commensurate with experience.
Unlikely and local candidates with directly relevant oilfield services industry experience will be highly preferred.
