American Coatings Association (“ACA” or the “Association”) has retained Major, Lindsey & Africa (“MLA”) on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for a Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to be located in its Washington D.C. office. ACA is an equal opportunity employer.
Organization Overview: The ACA is a voluntary, non-profit trade association working to advance the needs of the paint and coatings industry and the professionals who work in it. The Association represents paint and coatings manufacturers, raw materials suppliers, distributors, and technical professionals. ACA serves as an advocate and ally for members on legislative, regulatory and judicial issues, and provides forums for the advancement and promotion of the industry through educational and professional development services.
Experience: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience, including significant experience representing and working on behalf of non-profit organizations and/or trade associations. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a breadth of legal experience related to managing litigation, association insurance requirements, strong contract drafting and negotiating skills, anti-trust regulations, and tax regulations relevant to non-profit organizations.
Compensation: A competitive base and bonus package with exceptional benefits consistent with a candidate’s level of experience.
Location: Washington, D.C.
Relocation: Local candidates are strongly preferred.
Bar: Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
