Busy Long Island (Suffolk County) corporation seeks attorney for a great permanent position. Attorney will be responsible for negotiating and drafting software license, maintenance, distribution and service agreements; providing legal guidance to other business units; conducting complex contracts negotiations and otherwise supporting a wide range of commercial transactional matters.
This position requires a Juris Doctor degree and admission to the New York State Bar.
Ideal candidate will have approximately 8 years of experience handling licensing and commercial transactions, although attorneys of all experience levels will be considered if they fit the requirements of the position. In-house experience is preferred, but law firm experience will be considered. Candidates should have a solid background in drafting and negotiating software licenses (including cloud, SaaS, and hosted services agreements) and related out-bound technology transactions agreements. Candidate must have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, be able to multi-task effectively and be a team player. Practical working knowledge of how a legal department interacts with sales and other departments, and ability to work with minimal supervision and use Microsoft Office components without the need for other administrative support is required. Knowledge of or experience with HIPAA, HITECH and their implementing regulations is a plus.
