The Counsel – LATAM ensures that BSA enforcement campaigns in Latin America effectively promote compliance and copyright enforcement programs on behalf of BSA member companies in Latin America. Primary responsibilities include ensuring the Latin American end user compliance and enforcement programs are consistent with the strategic interests of BSA member companies and BSA operational and accounting procedures and guidelines. The Counsel – LATAM will be managing the day-to-day execution of the programs’ plans. This position will oversee the work of outside enforcement counsel throughout Latin America. This position will be a member of the Compliance & Enforcement Department and reports to the Director, Compliance & Enforcement – Americas.

The successful candidate will have 2-3+ years’ relevant legal experience, ideally in the areas of civil and/or criminal litigation and intellectual property protection. Business fluency (written and oral) in English, Portuguese and Spanish is required. Ideal candidates will also have knowledge of the Latin American legal system, preferably based upon experience working in the region.
Local candidates preferred.
Education / Bar:
J.D. from an accredited US law school is preferred, but candidates with a non-US J.D. equivalent law degree and a US LL.M will be considered.
