Our client, a successful growing well- funded global FinTech company, is seeking an experienced in-house Legal Counsel to work at its NYC office and be a part of the company’s global legal team. The position mostly covers the U.S. region and involves drafting a large range of agreements and legal documents, while working with internal clients from the various company departments, including sales, product, finance, marketing and more, as well as with contracting parties.
Based out of the company’s NYC offices, the Legal Counsel will provide continuing counsel and guidance on regional legal matters and on legal implications of various matters and serve as key legal advisor on company’s business transactions, support regional employment matters as needed, and work with outside counsels in the US and other jurisdictions in a variety of legal areas.

8 years of experience as a lawyer at a large law firm and/or as in-house counsel with a major company, preferably with a technology company
Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with deep legal and commercial understanding and analysis capabilities
International experience is highly preferred
Experience in the payments services sphere or FinTech background is an advantage
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to establish relationships across the organization
Ability to combine independent work with teamwork
Willing to travel, around 25%-30% (mainly to the West coast)
