SUMMARY OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Corporate Counsel provides advice and legal services to the officers, middle management and operating personnel of the TECO Energy companies in connection with all aspects of both routine and complex business transactions. This position will support all of the commercial activities of the Company’s Guatemalan operations currently consisting of two power plants and a minority interest in a distribution utility as well as other commercial ventures.

Requirements |

Related Experience: Required: Must have a minimum of 4 years experience. Preferred: Prefer 3 years of legal experience in international commercial transactions.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Required: Corporate Counsel must be multi-task oriented and have the capability to balance said duties in a high-profile, fast paced working environment. Must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish. Some travel is required.
EDUCATION: Requires a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university and Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited United States college/university. Must be a member in good standing of a state bar and be willing to seek admission to the Florida Bar.
