This company client is looking for a patent attorney with experience in areas such as web services, digital media, search, e-commerce, and business methods patents to join its team. This attorney will have a lot of accessibility of management and the environment of the company focuses on open communication and true team building. This attorney will help to manage the company’s worldwide patent portfolio as well as client counseling, liaising with outside counsel to manage filing, and prosecuting and maintaining US and foreign patents. Responsibilities also include working with software development engineers to determine patentability, handling pre-litigation patent disputes and inquiries, and managing opinion work and patent licensing. The ideal attorney will have experience in technology areas including: web services, digital media, search, e-commerce, and business methods patents; at least 5 years of relevant legal experience (including at least 4 years of patent prosecution experience) with a strong understanding of software and internet patents.
