Idaho Power Company's (IPC) Legal Department currently has an opening for an attorney to provide legal counsel and represent IPC regarding Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) jurisdictional issues, including but not limited to advising IPC personnel on legal matters related to interstate purchase and sale of power, purchase and sale of transmission, FERC Standards of Conduct and issues arising under Generator Interconnection regulations. This position will concentrate on legal issues such as (a) implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that IPC is operating in compliance with applicable law; (b) interpretation of federal, state and local laws affecting the operation of IPC; (c) representing IPC before federal and state administrative agencies; (d) retention of outside counsel and managing matters delegated to them; (e) performance of other assignments, not necessarily limited to FERC jurisdictional matters, as assigned by the General Counsel.The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete scheduled compliance training and submit to periodic background investigation as mandated by NERC

Education and Experience: Juris Doctorate degree and relevant experience in a law firm, large corporate legal department, and/or with the government.
In depth and demonstrated knowledge of FERC jurisdictional law and regulation as well as outstanding professional credentials.
Associate Counsel requires three or more years of experience; Corporate Counsel requires 4-8 years of experience; Senior Counsel requires eight or more years of experience; Lead Counsel requires ten or more years of experience. Placement DOE.
Licenses/Certifications: Current membership in a state Bar required.
