Commercial Litigation Management and Data Privacy Counsel

Sterling Commerce, a subsidiary of AT&T, is a software company that helps enterprises connect, communicate, and collaborate with their customers, partners, and suppliers by providing solutions and applications that enable seamless integration of key business processes and that transform the way companies do business. Sterling is seeking a General Attorney to support our Company in legal matters primarily dealing with Commercial Litigation, HIPAA, and Data Privacy. This role is responsible for giving legal advice and counsel with respect to corporate administration around Privacy & HIPAA and Commercial Litigation processes. The General Attorney (1) identifies potential legal issues related to business practices and policies and advises Company personnel, including management, (2) manages day-to-day legal matters in assigned areas, and (3) educates Company personnel (including management) regarding all matters affecting the legal operation of the Company worldwide and the protection of Company assets worldwide, including corporate compliance, intellectual property protection, proprietary information, insider-trading policies, privacy, trade, and employment law.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a J.D. degree from a nationally-recognized law school with an active license to practice law in multiple states, including Ohio; minimum of eight (8) years legal experience; corporate legal experience in the software/technology industry; and general in-house legal experience. Fluency in languages in addition to English is highly desirable. Some travel is required.
